Late night bloggin'

Only 15 days left until award submissions are due... even though marketing has a consistent amount of work year-round, it's still crunch time right after the third week of build season ends. I'm listening to bad pop music to try and stay awake to focus on what needs to get done at the next few meetings. It usually takes at least a half hour of planning before every meeting for things to run smoothly. Even though the marketing team is small (ten members or so), we're often working on numerous tasks at the same time, including Green FIRST, contacting politicians, producing the latest episode of The Lab and of course, writing award submissions. My desk is lined with post-its filled with people I need to email and things that need to be written.

Looking at the number of tasks that marketing handles, I realize how fortunate we are to have such a large marketing team. There is way too much for one person to do; we have a dedicated team of ten and we're still working in the lab until 9 at night. So a shout-out to all of the marketing/PR/outreach people out there: you guys are awesome, and good luck with everything that you're working on!
